EI – EI – Ohhhh

Apparently Old MacDonald was also a crop insurance agent because he was speaking our language! Once again our office is busy helping our farmers and their landlords review the various options available for 2020 crop insurance. And we LOVE it! Fast approaching is the March 15th deadline to sign up for 2020 crop insurance, although with the `15th being on a Sunday, producers have one extra day, Monday March 16th to make their election.

What are the options in 2020?

Some of our farmer favorites include:
OU – Optional Units
EU – Enterprise Units
RP – Revenue Production
PF – Prevent Plant Buy Up
YC – Yield Cup
TA – Trend Adjustment

Other options not quite so mainstream:
YP – Yield Protection
RPHPE – Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion
WFRP – Whole Farm Revenue Protection
MCEU – Multi-County Enterprise Units
SCO – Supplemental Coverage Option (for PLC elected program crops)

Other options our farmers may consider:
85% – 95% bands of coverage to add with Revenue or Yield coverage
Hail coverage with WIND coverage including GREENSNAP
Replant coverage starting at acre #1

So next time you sing Old MacDonald, think of us… And let us know if you have questions about any of these Eu Eu or Ouuuu!
